Meet the Author
Karenna Foley is a freshman psychology (and kind of theatre) major at the University of Maryland. She has been an avid storyteller from a very young age, whether through musical theatre, dance, or even opera! Karenna has dabbled in writing throughout her childhood but The Initiates marks her first true step into the wonderful world of creative writing. When she isn’t busy telling stories, she enjoys baking and playing with Olive, her adorable guinea pig.

Synopsis:
Raoilin is the newest Empire recruit. She is among the most highly skilled, praised, and sought after soldiers within the borders of the royal dominion, an essential player in the game of war that is looming over the entire continent.
At least that’s what she needs them to believe.
Raoilin holds a tremendous secret--she isn’t supposed to exist. The fate of her true homeland rests entirely on the hope that her presence within the Empire will be enough to alter the course of history, enough to turn the tides of a war before it has the chance to begin.
